Barrage
Scintillating fountains of earth errupting at random
Generating a symphony of destruction played by an orchestra of pain
Sudden surreal silence cuts the background
Showing warped mimes acting out scenes of misery
The peace ends as quickly as it began as reality strikes back in ernest
With a searing memory of an open wound slicing through the stasis of shell shock
The faded screams of souls echo and play like a monotonous chant
Showing the true colors of despair in the cries of the physically deformed
And then the light show is finished, revealing a feast of freshly cooked humanity
Cannibalism at the height of its power in the culturally advanced and modern age

I wrote this while i was spacing out in my Assembly Programming class today. I was thinking about the book i'm reading now called "The Great War: Deadlock". It's amazing how much pain humans can inflict upon others due to racial differences. World War One came about because of many reasons, but the main reason was a hatred born in the Medieval Ages between several countries and the bloody idiots couldn't stand being allies with each other. The biggest wars often start due to the dumbest reasons.
